Iwasaki are among the most prized among collectors and traditional shaving enthusiasts due to the quality of the steel's tempering and workmanship. The razor was made during the Showa period, around the 1950s. Its length is 15 cm, the length of the cutting edge is 5 cm, and the weight is 38 g. Medium size, light weight kamisori.
Similar to a traditional samurai sword, this Kamisori has been hand forged from 2 layers, the cutting part is made of high carbon steel and the support is a simpler stainless steel. The middle layer is hard for long-lasting sharpness and a pleasant shave, while the support layer provides the necessary flexibility.
Both layers are good at resisting corrosion, but no steel is completely rust-free, so always keep your razor dry and protect it with a thin layer of oil after shaving.
