Set of two straight razors in different sizes from Solingen (Germany). Both vintage razors are unused, in excellent condition, with decorated blades and classic bright handles.
Set includes:
Model 804 (4/8)
Blade dimensions: 70 × 16 × 4 mm
Weight: 31 g
Larger razor, more versatile, convenient for basic shaving
Model 802 (2/8)
Blade dimensions: 70 × 10 × 3 mm
Weight: 24 g
Smaller razor, particularly convenient for targeted work and hard-to-reach areas (under the nose, around the ears, contours)
Inscriptions on the blade: Renaissance, Solingen Germany, Spitzenqualitat, Meister Funk
Handles: Solingen INOX and Solingen logo
The razors are unused, without signs of use. Suitable for shaving, collecting or gift giving. May need a light sharpening or refreshing before use.
These are not ancient (early or mid-20th century) britvas in terms of visible features, but rather late production, around 1980-2000, maybe even slightly newer.
Why yes:
- Printed on “Solingen INOX” indicates stainless steel, which only came into wider use from ~1960-1970, and is commonly found in later products
- “Renaissance” - typical commercial, export-oriented Dovo name, often used in later production
- Engravings and overall design look more modern (factory production rather than handmade, mass-produced)
- Model numbering (802, 804, 208) is typical for later catalogue products
- Plastic (ivory) handles rather than real bone or horn - another sign of more modern production
Important: they are still considered vintage by shaving enthusiasts, but not „antique“.
