  • Suitable for finishing razors, knives, scissors, carpentry and other tools.
  • Dimensions: 240x95x20 mm
  • Weight: 1190 g
  • Hardness: Lv 5
  • Quarried in the middle of the last century, the vintage stone has a good working speed.
  • The lines in the middle are a little noticeable with the finger but do not interfere with sharpening. The stain on the edge is coarse (toxic). It will have to be avoided.
  • We recommend working with warm water, as cold water impairs speed and response.

This stone is hard and extremely fine, and can easily handle razors. Although it is quite hard, it has a better than average response compared to other such fine stones. It can also be used for carpentry tools and knives. It will leave a bright silvery and detailed sanmai polish. It is a very powerful finishing stone in every respect.

Nakayama (中山)
This eastern mine is famous for its sharpening finishing stones, awasedo. The multiple layers of karasu and kiita stones are particularly valued by cabinetmakers and knife sharpeners. Compared to stones of similar hardness and fineness from other mines, Nakayama stones are valued for their speed of work due to the more pleasant sharpening sensation.
