NOS Kamejumaru Kinsei Kamisori

Traditional Japanese kamisori razor with original gold box. Judging by the markings and shape, it is high quality vintage Japanese kamisori, made of Yasuki Steel, usually in the form of Shirogami (white) or Aogami (blue) steel grade.

Inscriptions on the box:

• 亀寿丸謹製 (Kamejumaru Kinsei) - brand Kamejumarumeaning "honourably made Kamejumaru".
• 保証 (Hoshō) - guarantee.
• 謹製 (Kinsei) - made with respect / care.
• ゴム柄付 - gumu-e tsuki - with a rubber handle (which is true - the knife has a blue coloured rubber wrapping, often referred to as a "kumi tsuka").

Blade:

• Typical kataba (single-sided sharpening) in the form of kamisori.

This is Kamejumaru brands NOS (New Old Stock) Japanese kamisori for professional use in hairdressing salons or barber shops.
Made in Japan, probably in the second half of the 20th century (1960-1980), when kamisori were still widely used, but had already begun to decline in everyday popularity due to modern razors.
