This stone is hard and quite fine, but has excellent sharpening response and speed. It hardly separates its suspension, but even without it, the work speed is high. Polishing can be accelerated using a nagura or diamond plate. This will not really be necessary when sharpening, as the contact area of the steel will be much smaller. With the appropriate patience and technique, the stones leave a shiny, refined kasumi on both the soft laminate and the hard core steel.
The blade is quite aggressive and is perfect for kitchen knives. This stone also works well with carpentry tools, e.g. chisels and planes. For razors, tools and polishing, we do not recommend not using a diamond plate, as I have found that the suspension is uneven and not as fine as I would like.
The dimensions of the stone will allow you to do all the work comfortably. The stone is white in color with black dots "Lotus flowers" spread over the entire surface and thickness. Deeper on the sides, there are some small ones that are barely visible SU (holes), which give the Suita sharpening stones an even higher working speed. Absolutely no toxic lines, but Black spot accumulations can be a nuisance in some cases. For example, if the blade is struck with a curved blade it can be damaged!
Both sides are ready for action. One coarser for the initial sharpening stage, the other finer for the finishing stage.
Okudo (奥殿)
Eastern mine, famous for its suita. These stones are often referred to as the "King of Suitas" and are perhaps the most sought after among their "colleagues". They are usually very hard, quite small and fast. Authentic Okudo stones are usually very expensive and rare.
