Iwasaki Sanjo Seisakusho 三条製作所 Shizusaburo and Henkotsu Vintage Japanese razors Kamisori NOS

The legendary blacksmith Shigeyoshi Iwasaki was born in 1933 and was taught, among others, by his father Dr Iwasaki Kousuke, who created Iwasaki Kamisori, also a metallurgist, famous for the classification of Japanese steel, i.e. "yellow paper", "white paper", "blue paper". etc.
He was also involved in the study of ancient swords and knives preserved in the Syousou-In Museum, built in the 8th century.
When he wasn't working at his forge, he taught technical skills and metallurgical theory to young blacksmiths from Sanjo like Shigefusa and Yoshikane. Now Shigeyoshi Iwasaki is retired, but his apprentice, Mr Ryoichi Mizuochi, is making other wonderful razors with the logo well known among amateurs - three stripes in a circle!

Henkotsu is also one of Japan's most prized vintage kamisori.
