Its large surface area makes it ideal for sharpening and polishing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This stone is dark and light grey with many karassic spots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shobu (\u83d6\u84b2\u8c37, Shobudani, Shoubu)<\/strong><br>Eastern mine, well regarded for the quality of its sharpening stones. Although this mine may not be as highly regarded as Ohira or Nakayama in the West, the stones from this mine are generally of very high quality.
