Henkotsu razors are appreciated for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>high quality <strong>Yasuki Steel<\/strong> (mostly Shirogami #2),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>precise geometry,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>good sharpening behaviour,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>stories - both for use by professional hairdressers and for export to other countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Like a traditional samurai sword, these Kamisori were hand-forged from 2 layers, the cutting part made of high-carbon steel and the support layer of a simpler steel. The steel layer is brittle and hard, while the sheath provides the necessary flexibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both layers are not rustproof, so always keep the razor dry after shaving and protect it with a thin layer of oil. Why does this blade rust? Rust-free blades are made from an alloy that will prevent corrosion stains but will also be less hard.
