Iwasaki is one of the most appreciated among collectors and traditional shaving enthusiasts for the quality of its steel hardening and workmanship. The razor was made in the Showa period, around the 1950s.
Like a traditional samurai sword, this Kamisori was forged by hand from 2 layers, the cutting part is made of carbon-rich steel and the fulcrum is of a simpler stainless steel. The middle layer is hard for long lasting sharpness and a pleasant shave, while the backing provides the necessary flexibility.
Both layers are good at resisting corrosion, but no steel is completely rust-free, so always keep your razor dry and protect it with a thin layer of oil after shaving.
