This Nakayama Kiita is very hard making it easier to work with the nagura. The stone is very good for sharpening razor blades, but it is also good enough for carbon steel knives, but its size will not make it convenient for sharpening larger tools.
This kiita has a bright yellow colour with few darker spots. The underside shows residual bark marks.
Nakayama (中山)
This Eastern mine is famous for its awasedo finishing stones. Multi-layered stone with another is especially appreciated by professionals and amateurs. Compared to stones of similar hardness and fineness from other mines, Nakayama stones are known for a more pleasant sharpening feel and work speed.
