Suita is a type of natural Japanese sharpening stone, extracted from certain geological layers in Japan. These stones have a porous structure and often have small cavities called "su". Due to this structure, Suita stones quickly release their suspension, which helps to sharpen blades efficiently and evenly. They are particularly valued for their ability to give blades a high-quality finish and long-lasting sharpness, as well as a sharp contrast between the hard and softer steel (Kasumi finish).
