An excellent sharpening finishing stone with sufficient hardness. In particular, Ikimurasaki is known for its good reaction to steel and is often used for sharpening razors. Although this is not a new item, it seems to have been used with great care and attention and has left a very good impression.
The sharpness of a razor is directly related to the value of barbers, and it seems that in the past there were many barbers who spent a lot of money on natural stones. Recently, changing blades has become common due to the hassle of sharpening razors and from a hygiene point of view, but some barbershops still use such whetstones and keep some in a sterilized cabinet.
Very few Nakayama or Ozuku red stones remain, even in Kyoto shops. It is a very valuable stone.
Be sure to use warm water for sharpening. This is a good natural Japanese stone.
