Very Rare Nisshoyama Rishonzan Shiro Red Lotus Suite. This stone is medium hard and fine with a medium sharpening feel and speed. It is difficult to release its own suspension, so we recommend using nagura to speed up the polishing of the knives. Conversely, black metal waste will quickly build up when you sharpen your blade on stone. With the appropriate patience and technique, the stones leave a shiny, refined kasumi on both the soft laminate and the hard core steel.
The blade is quite aggressive and is perfect for kitchen knives. This stone also works well with carpentry tools, e.g. chisels and planes. Shavers will not work because of the relatively large holes on the surface, called in Japan with. Because of the latter, it is also better not to use a lot of force when sharpening.
The bottom is not smooth, so it would be better to glue the stone to the wood or smooth it out.
