Hatanaka, Hatahoshi, Nakayama, Kiita – One of the most prestigious Japanese natural finishing stones, designed for the final polishing of blades and the creation of an exceptionally sharp edge. Ideal for razors, kitchen and woodworking knives, carpentry tools, and other high-quality cutting tools.

Hatanaka Hatahoshi – this is the Hatanaka family crest, associated with the legendary Nakayama A quarry in Kyoto. The Hatanakas were the last owners of this quarry and, for many years, selected only the highest-quality natural stones. Thanks to their extremely rigorous selection process and impeccable reputation, stones bearing the Hatahoshi mark are today considered among the most sought-after and highly regarded Japanese natural sharpening stones in the world.

This Nakayama Kiita This stone is ideal for the final finishing of blades, producing an exceptionally smooth, refined cut and a mirror-like finish. Kiita layer stones are valued for their speed, high-quality finish, and excellent feel during sharpening.

There are traces of old paint remaining on the underside of the stone—this is merely a cosmetic feature that has no effect on the stone’s performance or grinding properties.
