Vintage Razor Strops – Pigeon & LLAMA (Shell Cordovan)

Two classic razor strops designed for maintaining the sharpness of straight razors.

1. Pigeon Brand High Quality TOyo Razor Strop 6000
Manufacturer: Hashimoto Riki Co. Ltd (Japan).
A traditional razor strop used for maintaining and refining the edge of a straight razor.

2. LLAMA Brand Genuine Shell 440 Rex Razor Strop
A classic strop made with genuine shell cordovan leather, known for its smooth surface and excellent stropping properties.

When shaving with a straight razor, the blade gradually loses its sharpness. Stropping on leather helps realign and refresh the edge between sharpenings.

Typically, a linen strop (not included here) is used first if the blade is more dull or after sharpening on stones to remove microscopic metal particles from the edge before finishing on leather.

How to use:
Hang one end of the strop and hold the other end firmly to keep the leather tight while stropping.

Construction:
The strops consist of two layers of leather:

• Top layer – working horsehide shell cordovan
• Bottom layer – a supporting layer made from a more economical leather.

Condition:
Both strops are used but in good condition, with only minor twists and light surface scratches from normal use.
