This is Shohonyama Red Ohira Ipponsen from Kyoto. Finishing knives and carpentry tools. In this mine, the Red Ohira is one of the best and most valuable. This red Ohira, a beautiful pink gradation shows a brightening face. Soft, abrasive power is quite good. The sharpening process is very smooth, the fine suspension is released quite quickly, it is easy to sharpen. The surface is smooth without any "toxic" lines or inclusions.
Note that Japanese natural sharpening stones may not appeal to novice sharpeners, as they are more difficult to use and work slower than artificial ones. These are natural stones so each one is different so my measurements are not exact. It's a lifetime investment for people who sharpen their knives and tools.
